AYLMER, ON
Colin Dueck of the Aylmer SpitZoats hockey team has been suspended until the end of the month due to a particularly heated chirp he threw at an opposing player.
“He called him a Lutheran,” said referee Tim Miller. “We certainly can’t have slurs like that being tossed around on the ice.”
Dueck apologized for the chirp but says he doesn’t know what the big deal is.
“He literally is a Lutheran,” said Dueck. “I’ve got no problem with Lutherans. I mean I don’t want him marrying my sister or anything but still …”
Witnesses say there’s more to the story than just some heated words.
“He tried to re-baptize him,” said SpitZoats fan Martha Ens. “The ice needed to melt a bit though.”
The Lutheran player is demanding that the Mennonite be severely punished … Of course he is.
