For the first time in team history, the Winnipeg Jets have clinched first place in the General Conference.
“It’s a very exciting time to be alive,” said Dave of Winnipeg MC. “I never thought we’d see the Jets first in the General Conference. I mean, I always thought most of them were MBs.”
While the MBers were visibly upset by the news, the word was most heartbreaking for the city’s EMC population.
“Most of those guys played in the EM Cup back in the day,” said Dave of Winnipeg EMC. “To think they’d turn their backs on us like that. Joining the EMMC is one thing, but a Conference church? Na, oba!”
The news, however, did not seem to impact Mennonite hockey fans outside the city.
“The Winnipeg Jets can do whatever they want,” said Dave of Steinbach EMMMMMC. “I like the Jets well enough, but personally I much prefer the Vanapag Jats.”
