American Kids Get Day Off School Tomorrow in Order to Pack Up and Move to Canada

HARRISONBURG, VA

With the fate of the nation hanging in the balance this evening, many American schools are giving the kids a day off school tomorrow.

“You know, to pack,” said Principal Rachel Schmidt of Harrisonburg. “Gotta be prepared for any eventuality.”

With the outcome uncertain until well after bedtime, kids apparently won’t know whether they’ll be moving north until sometime tomorrow.

“I guess you could get a travel bag ready. Like a toothbrush and stuff,” said Schmidt. “But the bulk of the packing will have to be during the school day tomorrow.”

Schmidt said she sent home a packing list with kids, as well a $50 gasoline gift card, and directions to get to the border.

“There may be long lineups, so you should leave early,” said Schmidt. “I know I’m halfway there already.”

Several commenters, however, had placed doubt on the story, noting that the accompanying photo didn’t seem like a real American classroom since it had a map of the world in it.
