Astronauts Return to Earth After 9 Months Trapped in Conversation at Mennonite Couple’s Doorway

ROSTHERN, SK

Butch and Suni have finally returned home, after nine long months trapped in conversation at the Klassen’s doorway in the tiny Mennonite town of Rosthern, Saskatchewan.

“There’s always a risk when you send people way up north of Saskatoon,” said NASA spokesperson Dave Groening. “The people are so friendly, it’s very hard to extract someone from a conversation like that.”

Butch and Suni had apparently made it as far as the doorway, when the Klassen’s decided to stand there peppering them with questions and work, church, the kids, you name it.

“They had no means of escape,” exclaimed Groening. “We really don’t train them for situation like this.”

Their return to earth finally occurred after Suni decided to consult page 606 of the NASA manual.

“All you have to do is say ‘nah yo dan’ several times,” said Groening. “Eventually they were able to leave.”

In other news, the astronauts have returned to earth apparently totally fluent in Low German.
