Cold Washington Weather Moves Inauguration to Winnipeg

WINNIPEG, MB

It was a bit too chilly in DC this week, so much so that the inauguration had to be moved to a more suitable climate – Winnipeg.

“Everyone knows January is the best time to be outdoors in Winnipeg,” said Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. “Plus we’ll be invading Canada soon anyway.”

Winnipeg weather rose to a high of -35 on Monday, but it was in Celsius and White House staffers struggled to convert the temperature into Fahrenheit.

“What did Bob and Doug McKenzie always say? Double it and add thirty?”said Leavitt. “Well, whatever, how bad can it be! I’m sure it’s warm enough for our beloved President.”

Dozens of Winnipeggers attended the ceremony, which was held in the middle of the recently reopened Portage and Main.

“It’s the warmest intersection in North America. That’s what I’ve always heard,” said Leavitt. “And so full of lively pedestrian traffic.”

Later it was revealed that Leavitt was getting all her information about Manitoba from The Unger Review.
