Millions of Canadians are concerned about Trump’s new metal tariffs that are set to come into place at midnight tonight.
“Ugh, why can’t he leave Canadian metal alone?” said diehard Rush fan Darren Giesbrecht. “Like maybe he can just put a tariff on Canadian country or something instead.”
According to the new tariffs, Canadian metal such as Annihilator, Voivod, Razor, and Sacrifice, will all be hit with a 25% import tax.
“Or maybe even 50% the way things are going,” said Giesbrecht. “If this keeps up, I’ll have to confine myself to listening to Finnish metal instead. And nobody wants that.”
Still, some last minute negotiations are underway.
“I think we’ve made a pretty solid case that Rush is not actually metal,” said Giesbrecht. “I’m just hoping Trump doesn’t slap a 25% tariff on prog.”
Meanwhile, Giesbrecht is also trying to argue that the tariff should exclusively be applied on all exports of Nickelback.
