Thousands of tourists in raincoats have taken the 6 up to Pisew Falls this week for their chance to ride the ‘Maid of the Mist.’
“Diewel, it was a long drive. Knacked nearly five bags of Ronnie’s on the way up,” said Mr. Friesen of Winkler. “But look at those falls! Stunning! Winkler doesn’t have anything like that that’s for sure once!”
The Friesens and “half of Winkler” were up at Pisew Falls this weekend hoping to ride the Maid of the Mist they’d heard so much about. Rumours have it the romantic locale is even inspiring a marriage proposal or two.
“If she looks receptive and the mosquitos aren’t too bad, I think I’m going to pop the question,” said young Timmy Friesen. “Pisew Falls is the perfect place for an engagement!”
Sadly, Timmy never got to pop the question, however, since all his second cousins were spending the whole weekend at Paint Lake instead.
