LA CRETE, AB
Liberal leader Mark Carney has significantly hurt his chances in La Crete, Winkler, Aylmer this week after dropping out of the Plautdietsch leadership debate.
“Meanwhile, I’ve been brushing up on my Plautdietch in preparation,” said rival candidate Pierre Poilievre. “I can already say schjekbenjel, schludenz, and waut de schissjat.”
It’s long been known that fluency in Plautdietsch can make or break a political campaign.
“It’s the official language in several Mennonite darpa,” said pundit Dave Wiens. “We’re also looking for a Prime Minister with plow experience.”
On the other hand, it’s believed that Carney doesn’t know a lick of Low German.
“It doesn’t help that Parliament’s been prorogued,” said Carney, “so I haven’t been able to take up Ted Falk on his offer of Plautdietsch lessons.”
