Mennonite Couple Drives All the Way to Grand Forks for Chick-fil-A … On a Sunday

GRAND FORKS, ND

The Broesky family of Mitchell, Manitoba loaded up the minivan this morning for what they hoped would be a lovely afternoon outing in Grand Forks. Unfortunately for the Broeskys, they had to opt for an alternative dining experience.

“Oba, we drove all the way out here and Chick-fil-A is closed,” proclaimed Earl Broesky. “I’m not sure why they didn’t warn us at the border that we were wasting our time.”

Broesky had no idea such a major fast food chain would be closed on Sundays.

“Diewel! Back home in Manitoba, we make our local heathens and Lutherans work on Sundays,” said Broesky. “We’ve gotta have someplace to eat after church!”

Broesky said he’s never had trouble finding a place to eat after church back home in Canada.

“It just goes to show how much more righteous we are in Canada,” said Broesky. “I would never dream of making my Martha cook on a Sunday. But with Chick-fil-A closed, these Grand Forks people have no choice but to make their Marthas cook on Sundays.”

Eventually the Broeskys managed to find a Culvers that was open, but say they’ve learned their lesson and will stay in Canada on the weekend from now on, where at least they can be assured the local Chicken Chef will always be open.
