GRUNTHAL, MB
Area poultry producer Garth Broesky has reached out to Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre to come on down to Grunthal and help him count all his chickens before they’re hatched.
“He was getting so far ahead in the polls there a couple months ago,” said Broesky. “It seemed he was heading straight for the Prime Minister’s office. Now, who knows? I figured he’ll be perfect for this chicken counting job.”
Broesky says he’s already got a bucket and pair of over-alls ready to go.
“All you gotta do is schlep around in the manure for a bit, gather all the eggs, and count them,” said Broesky. “Then we’ll see in a few weeks how many of these turn out to be chickens.”
Broesky says the job pays pretty well, about $16.50 an hour, which is not as much as a chicken catcher, but is a much easier job.
