Mennonite Man Medals in Synchronized Baptisms

PARIS, FRANCE

It was a historic moment for the Canadian Olympic team this week as Rylan Wiens and diving partner Nathan Zsombor-Murray won a bronze medal. The moment did not go unnoticed by the folks at Menno Acres Senior’s Home in Saskatoon.

“Look at those nice young men standing there,” said Mrs. Martens. “It’s always nice to see a good old-fashioned synchronized baptism.”

Mrs. Martens gave the pair scores of 8.5, 8.0, and 9.0, but docked a point since they just leaped into the water and didn’t give their testimonies or anything.

“They were certainly in sync, though. I can’t deny it,” said Mrs. Martens. “I just hope they stick around for faspa later.”

Martens say she’s already petitioning Pastor Dave to install a 10 meter diving board at the church this fall.

“I’m not sure if he’ll go for it,” said Martens. “He said that method is little too close to the MBs.”
