Area woman Carolyn Enns, 71, was sick and tired of all the wrath and judgement she received for attending a movie on occasion that she decided it was time she attended a film instead.
“I can’t even count how many times I’ve been hauled before the elder board for seeing movies,” said Enns. “They’ve got Mrs. Martens sitting outside the theatre, notebook in hand. It’s impossible to get away with it.”
That was, until Enns discovered that there was nothing in the church constitution that forbade the watching of something called “films.”
“Apparently, it’s totally different from a movie,” said Enns. “As Christians, we don’t see movies, but films, on the other hand, well, even Billy Graham made those.”
Enns plans to watch several of the raunchiest films she can find, which is totally acceptable under church rules.
“Gotta hand it to whoever wrote the rule book,” said Enns. “You’ve always gotta leave room for a loophole.”
