Mennonite Woman Gets Finger Trapped in Rolled-Up Slice of Faspa Ham

FRIEDENSFELD, MB

The annual Heppner gathering in Friedensfeld this week required emergency intervention after Aunt Tina got her finger caught in a rolled-up ham slice.

“I’ve been warning people about those ham slices for decades,” said cousin Jake. “The bologna is one thing, but you never want to get one of your ten digits caught in rolled up deli ham.”

The ham slices had been carefully rolled by the Heppner sisters before the event, but that didn’t prevent Aunt Tina from having troubles.

“There’s only so much we can do to prevent a situation like this,” said sister Adina. “That Tina needs to watch where she sticks her fingers.”

Eventually the ambulance arrived and were able to extract Aunt Tina from the ham slice.

“We were able to save her index finger,” said Dr. Hans, “but those Heppners need to learn not to be so tight with their ham rolling.”

The ambulance reportedly had to come a second time after one of the Heppner cousins got a cheese curd stuck where it doesn’t belong.
