Mennonite Woman Successfully Convinces Husband to Leave the House

WINKLER, MB

After months of incessant requests, area woman Anne Peters finally convinced her husband Donald to leave the house and take her to Chuck’s Roadhouse or something for once.

“That man has spent every evening watching the Jats for months,” said Peters. “Either that or the news. Whenever I try to get him out of the house, we comes up with some excuse. My back hurts. I’m too tired. Chicken Chef just isn’t the same anymore. Ugh. He’s one stubborn Menno.”

All her efforts finally paid off, however, and Donald put on his nice Sunday dress shirt and took his wife for dinner.

“Eventually I switched strategies,” said Peters. “Over the course of several weeks, I gradually turned up the Thermostat one degree per day. Finally, this weekend, he said, ‘Diewel, Anne, it sure is hot in here. I’ve got to get out and get some fresh air!'”

The couple wound up having a lovely steak dinner at 4:30 in the afternoon before returning home shortly after 5.

“I’m not sure when I’ll convince him to leave the house again,” said Peters. “He better watch out or the church elders are going to get suspicious.”
