MLA Caught Using Cell Phone Forced to Pick it Up in Wab Kinew’s Office

WINNIPEG, MB

Sources won’t tell us if it was Kelvin Goertzen or Josh Guenther or even Carrie Hiebert. All we know is that one MLA was caught using a cell phone in the legislature this morning and was forced to pick it up at the end of the day in Wab Kinew’s office.

“Fair is fair,” said Kinew. “We have to be good examples for all the students tuning in to watch question period.”

Kinew reportedly had a nice little chat with the MLA and said if they do it again, they’ll get a phone call home to their parents.

“I sure don’t want them calling my mom,” said Kelvin Goertzen, who would not admit that he was the guilty party. “I certainly wouldn’t want to be grounded and miss soccer practice.”

With the absence of cell phones in the legislature, MLAs have taken to passing notes like we all did in the 80s.

“You’ll never believe who has a crush on …”

Kinew reportedly intercepted the embarrassing note and read it in front of the whole legislature.
