Responding to an executive order by President Trump, Google Maps has begun showing the state of New Mexico as New ‘Murica, although the label only appears when accessing the site from within the confines of the United States and after consuming a 12 pack of Miller Light.
“In all other places, it will still show up as New Mexico,” said Google CEO Sundar Pichai. “We’re really just counting on the shoddy education system in the US to make sure no one notices the change.”
For Trump, though, the change has been a great early victory for his administration.
“As of this day, we will have, a great state – it’s great isn’t it, folks?” said Trump. “A great state – we will restore the great state of New Mex – oh I won’t even say it. They can’t make me say it. The state will now be known as the great and wonderful state – thank you, folks, thank you, Sleepy Joe never would’ve done this — the great state of New ‘Murica!”
Crowds cheered at the announcement, with many declaring the most important decision in ‘Murican history.
“I don’t think my life will ever be the same after this,” said one Sante Fe resident. “It really brings a tear to my eye. I can’t even speak. God bless you, President Trump. You truly are a patriot!”
