Winkler is finally getting its own Costco store, which will be conveniently located just an hour and a half away in Winnipeg.
“Finally, Winkler’s getting a Costco!” proclaimed local man John Penner. “It’s so nice to see a big store like this come within 150 kms of our community.”
The new Costco is already looking to hire folks who are willing to drive out there every day.
“Hey, I’m not looking for a job, but the cheap hot dogs alone makes it worth the journey,” said Penner. “This is almost as exciting as that Winkler Walmart we used to go to in Winnipeg.”
The Costco will fill a huge void left in the Winkler market ever since the Eatons basement closed.
“And the new Costco has promised that they will make sure that ‘half of Winkler’ is there every time you visit,” said Penner. “It’ll make for some really fine schwautzarie.”
In other news, Steinbach residents were also looking forward to a brand new Costco store coming within a day’s drive of their community.
