WASHINGTON, DC
On the verge of breaking the all-time goal-scoring record in the NHL, Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals, accidentally passed the puck last night.
“Ugh, an assist,” said Ovechkin. “What the hell am I going to do with that?”
Ovechkin’s scoring ability has never been in question. His willingness to spread the wealth, however, has not been one of his strong points.
“I grew up in a Communist country where we shared everything,” said Ovechkin. “I’m not such a fan of it anymore.”
This emphasis on taking everything for yourself and not giving anyone else a chance seems to align with his admiration for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
“What can I say?” said Ovechkin. “We all have our influences.”
The influence of Vladimir Putin over Ovechkin’s hockey skills, seem to be belied by the fact that Putin falls on his ass every time he gets on the ice.
