Ovechkin on Pace to Smash Gretzky’s All-Time Points Record by the Year 2055

WASHINGTON, DC

Alex Ovechkin is now on pace to shatter the only record that really matters – career points. And the 39-year-old intends to stick around long enough to do so.

“I’ll be in my 60s by then, but at least I’ll have the record,” said Ovechkin. “I can only hope my beloved Putin is around to see it.”

Just 1200 points away from the record, Ovechkin is well on his way to achieving that goal.

“And Stanley Cups? I’m pretty sure I can get the Capitals to surpass Montreal with a little effort,” said Ovechkin. “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

In other news, Canadians have completely rejected the importance of goal-scoring and now, apparently, care only about assists.
