Pipeline to Supply Calgary With Toronto Water

TORONTO, ON

More than $12 billion will be spent to repurpose an old oil pipeline to send excess water from flooded Toronto all the way out to Calgary where they need it.

“It’s about time for these pipelines to be put to use,” said Toronto mayor Olivia Chow. “We don’t mind helping out those Calgarians in their time of need.”

Scientists have crunched the numbers and it just so happens that the volume of water that has flooded the GTA in recent days is precisely the amount required to keep the taps on in Calgary.

“We just have to get the approval of all the provinces in between,” said Chow. “I’m sure Saskatchewan won’t object, but I’m not so sure about Manitoba.”

The pumping will begin this Thursday morning with the water expected to reach Northeast region of Calgary by early next week.
