It’s happened to Tracy Chapman and Kate Bush and now it seems a 500-year-old hymn has also entered the charts long after its release. This week ‘Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow’ shot up to number one on iTunes thanks to a recent performance on the Grammy Awards.
“It’s an oldie but a goodie,” said local music lover Carol Toews. “Wow, that hymn really slaps.”
It seems that ‘Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow’ (aka the Doxology) is longer just a song to sing when you don’t feel like saying grace.
“It’s everywhere,” said Toews. “Just the other day I heard it in the change room at Old Navy.”
GCers are apparently so aghast at the song’s success that they’re desperately campaigning to have the 606 version enter the charts as well.
