Riot in Rural Manitoba After Fall Supper Runs Out of Meatballs

SAINT EINBACH, MB

Things got heated in the tiny hamlet of Saint Einbach, Manitoba this weekend after the annual fall supper ran out of meatballs.

“And we weren’t doing all that well with the mashed potatoes either,” said event organizer Lois Brandt. “I’m sorry for our miscalculations but that’s no reason for violence.”

It all started after Mr. Bill Plett stood around waiting for meatballs and had to settle for a bun with jam instead.

“I paid $20 for this fall supper and I expect to be served,” said Plett. “That’s the last time I drive out to Saint Einbach. I guess I’ll stick to Pansy or Gardenton where they know what they’re doing.”

Plett was so upset at the lack of meatballs that he flipped over his table and was soon followed by several others demanding meatballs or at least some cabbage rolls.

“We made several arrests,” said local police. “I don’t warn to blame the victim, but you have to expect this kind of reaction when your fall supper is not up to snuff.”

Plett was released on bail a few days later and says the prison food wasn’t very good but at least they didn’t run out of meatballs.
