Lululemon stores in Calgary are under serious financial pressure this week, after the recent crack down on southern Alberta women wearing leggings under their skirts.
“That’s where it all starts,” yelled Pastor Dave from the pulpit this Sunday. “Next thing you know the skirt comes off and they’ve switched to pants.”
This fear of pants has churches scrambling to create new rules about acceptable attire.
“We’ve got Aganetha Siemens working on a few new designs,” said Pastor Dave. “We’ve got to nip this pants wearing trend in the bud.”
In an effort to win back Mennonite customers, city Lululemon stores have begun selling long denim skirts and floral patterned dresses.
“All the Gen Z women are buying them,” said store manager Brittney Klippenstein. “Everyone wants to look like a Mennonite these days.”
It’s not yet know whether this “Mennonite thing” is a lasting fashion trend or just earlier preparation for Halloween.
