Thousands of Winnipeggers Show Up to Church this Morning After Divine Intervention in Football Game

WINNIPEG, MB

A mysterious gust of wind at a crucial moment in the final game of the regular season, had thousands of skeptical Winnipeggers convinced of God’s existence.

“Yeah, I’m not really much of a churchgoer,” said local man Neil Reimer. “But did you see the way that ball hung up there? Somebody must have been praying.”

Rumour has it the divine intervention can be attributed to a prayer meeting held in the tiny Mennonite village of Rosenort.

“I guess we finally know which side God is on – the Mennonites or the Catholics,” said prayer meeting attendee Abe Doerksen. “Hey, you know, there’s a reason the Jets are 8 and 0, too.”

The new churchgoing Winnipeggers say they enjoyed the morning’s service, but were really hoping for fewer boring sermons and more football highlights.
