Incoming US President Donald Trump has changed his mind about buying Canada after paging through the weekly real estate guide in Toronto.
“1.5 million for that crap shack?” said Trump, looking at a photo of a tiny Danforth bungalow. “I’m going to have to crunch the numbers, but buying Canada may be more expensive than I thought.”
Reports suggest his initial offer to purchase Canada was based on misleading data.
“I was looking at the price of houses in southern Manitoba,” said Trump. “Now those I could afford.”
The rescinded offer may come as a relief for some Canadians, although rumour has is it Trump might just change his mind again once he finds out those Toronto housing prices are in Canadian dollars.
