Tupperware Bankruptcy Blamed on Margarine Containers

ALTONA, MB

Margarine containers are to blame for the bankruptcy, says Tupperware CEO IB Friesen.

“It’s hard to compete with a freshly rinsed Becel,” said Friesen. “I’m not going to blame the Mennonites, but neither will I deny that they had a lot to do with it.”

Friesen says the company has been in shambles for decades, ever since Mrs. Kroeker of Altona first realized a margarine container could be reused.

“She spread the word and it was all over after that,” says Friesen. “Once they discovered ice cream pails, we were a goner.”

While rich city Mennonites have used real name brand Tupperware on occasion, it wasn’t enough to stem the tide.

“It’s the end of an era,” says Friesen. “I can only hope future generations can live without our delightful orange peelers.”

Mrs. Kroeker says she won’t miss the orange peelers either since her husband Dennis can rip one apart without any assistance.
