HAMILTON, ON
On a busy Hamilton street this afternoon, two Canadian were texting as they walked and slammed right into one another, both loudly proclaiming that they were “sorry, buddy.”
“This is impossible. It had to be the fault of one or other of them,” said Dr. Thiessen of McMaster University. “It’s scientifically impossible that they were equally at fault for the collision.”
Thiessen says at best it’s a 60/40 split in which case only the more guilty party should be the only one apologizing.
“In cases like this we prefer to be economical in our distribution of apologies,” said Thiessen. “You never know when our neighbour to the south might try to impose on our supply.”
Thiessen said while Canadian are more likely to apologize for no reason, Americans, on the other hand, are much more likely to blame the other person and pull out a weapon even though it was totally their own fault.
