Winnipeg Road Workers Out Installing Fresh New Potholes

WINNIPEG, MB

It’s that time of year again. Construction crews are out in earnest this week trying to keep up with the demand for new 2025 potholes.

“It’s a lot of work,” said veteran road worker Andy Kehler. “But you know these potholes don’t get here on their own.”

Kehler says Winnipeg drivers are already noticing the change.

“This is our busy season,” said Kehler. “People are expecting brand new potholes and we will not disappoint.”

With weather warming up, construction teams have been spotting hammering away at the concrete to create potholes in places that never had them before.

“We like to keep them on their toes,” said Kehler. “It’s no fun to swerve past the very same potholes you did last year.”

By mid-March Winnipeg roads are expected to have upwards of 80,000 new potholes.

“Not to mention new cracks and chunks of concrete thrown all over the place,” said Kehler. “You know this truly is the most delightful time of year for Winnipeg drivers.”
